Houston Chapter celebrates 50-year anniversary.

On May 8, 2004 the Houston Chapter celebrated its 50th anniversary by hosting a dinner party at the Downtown Aquarium for TEI members and their guests. The celebration included honoring all past presidents in attendance, as well as TEI Executive Director Timothy McCormally. Much has changed since the National TEI office issued the Houston Charter on February 20, 1954 with the names of the original fourteen charter members.

The Houston Chapter now has more than 200 members and hosts four separate meetings in addition to the regular monthly meetings. These four specialized meetings are geared to the specific tax areas of international, state and local, federal and IRS audits.

In additional to the monthly meetings the Houston Chapter has also instituted an annual tax school. The tax school has been a highly successful and well-respected source of tax training for many TEI members and...
