Los Angeles Chapter Hosts Three Seminars and Annual Tax Administrators' Night.

The Los Angeles Chapter's fiscal year ended with three well-attended full-day seminars. In April, Bob Cendejas of Ernst & Young's Los Angeles office coordinated a Sales and Use Tax Seminar. On May 21, Arthur Andersen presented a Tax Controversies Seminar coordinated by Jordan P. Weiss of the firm's L.A. office. The final seminar of the year was presented in June by Baker & McKenzie. Maurice Emmer of the firm's Palo Alto office arranged to have 15 additional partners representing 14 countries address International Tax Planning and Recent Tax Developments.

Tax Administrators' Night

The Annual Meeting and Tax Administrators' Night was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on June 16. In attendance were numerous tax officials from the Los Angeles and Southern California Districts of the IRS, a member of the California State Board of Equalization, the Chief Counsel of the Franchise Tax Board, and property tax assessors and representatives from three counties...
