Hospitality industry recognizes its stars.

The Greater Greenville Chapter of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association recognized winners of the annual Upstate Hospitality Awards, presented by Sysco Columbia, at the Greenville Marriott on Nov. 5.

Businesses and individuals are nominated and selected for several award categories including Restaurateur of the Year, Hotel Manager of the Year and Educator of the Year. Awards are based on outstanding service, accomplishments and overall dedication to success. The winners are automatically nominated into the statewide association's Stars of South Carolina Hospitality Awards, according to a news release.

This event also serves as a fundraiser to provide scholarships for students seeking educations in the industry.

"These winners truly exemplify the highest standards of quality and service in the Upstate hospitality industry," said John Durst, president and CEO of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association, in the release. "Their commitment and accomplishments are truly something to celebrate."
