HORIZONS scholarships are awarded to candidates demonstrating significant leadership potential in the fields of science, engineering and international affairs as they relate to national security and business disciplines. Our goals are to maintain the competitiveness of the United States and to ensure its national security. In order to accomplish these goals, HORIZONS seeks to:

* Support undergraduate students financially and encourage them to seek careers in national security fields.

* Provide funding for continuing education for those currently in the national security work force.

* Develop women leaders in national security organizations through education and peer support.

* Encourage women to pursue educational opportunities in technical fields of study.

Accredited colleges and universities support the HORIZONS Foundation scholarship program. Awards normally are made on a semi-annual basis. Scholarships are awarded to applicants who require financial assistance and demonstrate both strong academic credentials and a commitment to a career in national security.
