With the NCAA holiday basketball tournaments just around the corner, the personal-finance website WalletHub has released a report on the Best & Worst Cities for College Basketball Fans to help get hoops lovers psyched for this festive time of year.

To find 2017's top spots for NCAA hoops, WalletHub crunched the numbers on 291 U.S. cities using seven key metrics, ranging from the number of teams per city and the winning percentage of each to arena capacity and social-media engagement.

The best cities, starting at the top, are Chapel Hill, N.C.; Los Angeles, Calif.; Durham, N.C.; Bloomington, Ind.; Philadelphia, Pa.; East Lansing, Mich.; Lawrence, Kan.; Lexington, Ky.; Storrs, Conn.; and Cullowhee, N.C.
