History professor observes foreign elections; presents at international conference.

Dr. Peng Deng, professor of history, visited Taiwan as part of a group of scholars observing the island's midterm election, and also gave a presentation at an international conference, held on the campus of Chongqing Teachers University in Chongqing, China.

Deng, along with scholars from the United States, Canada, Australia, China and France, was invited by the Grand Alliance of the Three People's Principles and met with politicians from Taiwan's Nationalist Party and Democratic Progress Party. The group observed mayoral and congressional races in five municipalities.
