Hewlett-Packard Corp. (HP) has announced that it is working separately with a quartet of leading BI vendors--Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion and SAS--in the development of new solutions using HP OpenView Business Process Insight software to add near real-time business process visibility to their business intelligence solutions.

Under agreements between HP and the companies, HP will work with each vendor to use HP OpenView Business Process Insight (BPI) within the new solutions to provide up-to-the-minute business process status and results. The resulting solutions, expected to be available later this year, will address the business intelligence market, which in 2004 experienced better than expected performance with a growth rate of 11 percent to reach $4.27 billion in worldwide software revenue.

HP OpenView BPI, developed by HP and introduced last year, dynamically highlights activity within business processes and is intended to enable both IT and business operations to improve business results.
