Huller Hille Hessapp has expanded its self-loading and unloading vertical turning products and will display three machines at IMTS. Hessapp now offers 13 vertical turning machine models covering a turning range of 50mm (1.96") to 630mm (24.8"). Six models are offered in the DVH, single-spindle version, one model in the dual-spindle DVH duo version, and six models in the patented DV-Transfer, two-spindle version.

At IMTS 2000, Hessapp will feature the DVH 150 duo machine, the DV-Transfer 150 L, and the DVH 450.

The DVH 150 duo with dual spindles simultaneously machines two identical work pieces. With a rapid traverse rate of 60 m/min (2362 ipm), a high acceleration rate and short paths less time is spent between cuts and more time cutting. Standard on the dynamic spindle motor are 7500 rpm, 46 kW, a liquid-cooling system for thermal stability, and C-axis precision positioning. Two disk-type turrets with 8-tool positions each make this an ideal machine for high volume manufacturing of small diameter work pieces.

Hessapp also will debut a linear-feed motor on the DV-Transfer 150 L machine. This patented two-spindle design optimizes the machining of both sides of a work...
