PositionSPOTLIGHT ON CLF VENTURES

CLF Ventures is working with Aroostook Wind Energy, a partnership planning a 500 to 600 megawatt wind power project on agricultural fields in northern Mine. The project output would be larger than many traditional power plants. An initial phase of the project is planned to go online by 2007. Upon completion, this project would be one of the largest facilities creating renewable, non-polluting electricity for New England, Situated on agricultural land with few wildlife issues, it is a significant opportunity for CLF Ventures.

Project partners, Horizon Wind Energy and Maine-based Linekin Bay Energy, are currently in an exploratory phase. They are securing specific sites for the project and have erected six data collection towers that they expect wilt confirm that wind resources in the region are sufficient to allow the project to move forward.
