Television broadcasts will switch from analog to digital beginning Feb. 17, 2009, and the federal government is offering help to consumers who now use analog TVs with a rooftop antenna or rabbit ears. Reception will no longer be available via those methods beginning in March, but consumers can buy a converter box to continue those forms of TV reception after the change. The federal government is offering up to two $40 coupons for U.S. households to help pay for converter box purchases through a TV Converter Box Coupon Program run by the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
