* The Navy announced Rear Adm. Kurt Rothenhaus has been assigned as chief of naval research. Rothenhaus is currently serving as program executive officer for command, control, computers, communications and intelligence at Naval Information Warfare Systems Command.

President Joe Biden nominated Air Force Brig. Gen. Dale White for appointment to lieutenant general and to be assigned as the military deputy at the office of the assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition, technology and logistics. White is currently serving as the program executive officer and director for fighters and advanced aircraft.

GE Aerospace named Rita Flaherty vice president of strategy and business development for the company's defense and systems organization. Flaherty previously served as the vice president of strategy and business development for Lockheed Martin's missiles and fire control division.

The National Defense Industrial Association's Special Operations/Low-Intensity Conflict Division added Shifts vice president of government affairs and policy Jessica Carroll to its board of directors, as well as 11 new members to its board of advisors.

Franz-Stefan Gady joined the Center for a New American Security's defense program as an adjunct senior fellow. Gady has advised militaries in Europe and the United States on structural reform and the future of high-intensity warfare.
