* Boeing named Dr. Brendan Nelson president of Boeing International. The former Australian diplomat and government minister will succeed Sir Michael Arthur when he retires in early 2023 after spending the past four years at the helm of Boeing International.

Maria Fernandez will succeed Nelson as president of Boeing Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific.

Fernandez previously ran a consultancy that provided strategic advisory and independent assurance services to Australian government agencies.

Nick Jones, the National Defense Industrial Association's director of strategy, has moved on to a position at ST Engineering, the Singapore-based technology company.

In other ST Engineering news, the company sold a pair of its U.S.-based maritime companies--Halter Marine and ST Engineering Halter Marine Offshore --to Louisiana-based Bollinger Shipyards. Halter Marine has the contract to build the Coast Guard's new Polar Security Cutters and a Navy Oceanographic Survey Ship. The combined shipyards will now operate under the name Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding.

The Air Force Research Laboratory broke ground on the Facility for Radiation Tolerance Research on Electronics for Space and Strategic Systems, or FORTRESS, a 6,200-square-foot, $4.5 million facility, located at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.

It will enable researchers to investigate and develop components that ensure the survivability of Space Force and Air Force systems in harsh, natural and man-made environments. It replaces a 50-year-old facility.
