When Congress passed the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) in 2002, it literally changed the way the world does business. Intended to deter reruns of Enron, Tyco, WorldCom, and the like, SOX focused a bright spotlight on how companies manage their audit records, which, in turn, has had a monumental impact on the records and information management (RIM) profession and industry.
