As a devout Catholic, I found Colman McCarthy's article ("God on Our Side," November issue) absolutely wonderful. I, too, have been offended that our local church has an American flag on the altar--seemingly in support of the war. I've spoken to our pastor about it and learned that he was dead set against the war.
