In anticipation of a growing demand in the military market for hand-held thermal imaging sensors, companies are unveiling new products.

The Night Vision Equipment Company, in Allentown, Penn., is marketing the Mini-IR, which fits into a battle-dress uniform's breast pocket. It can be used to search windowless buildings, caves and detect hot targets through foliage, the company claims.
