H. Death by Lynching

If a victim dies as a result of a lynching, the county where the death ensues is liable for punitive damages of not less than two thousand dollars.³⁰ In order to recover against the county for lynching, the plaintiff must prove the lynching victim was killed after being charged with or suspected of having committed a crime and that such death was inflicted by a mob because of such crime or suspicion of a crime.³¹
