GUYANA-UTILITIY - Utility company to ensure access to water for all citizens.


The Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) says it is seeking to establish additional wells in several communities across the country, as it accelerates efforts to ensure that every Guyanese has access to water.

According to the water utility company's Managing Director, Dr. Richard Van West-Charles, this year GWI with support from the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH and PA) will be adding two wells in East Bank Demerara.

Speaking on a local radio show on Friday, the Managing Director added that with the new drilling rig recently commissioned, and as soon as the required pipes can be transported from neighbouring Brazil.
