A gun owner's lament.

Thank you for "No Right to Bear Bushmasters" ("On the Line," March issue). I've hunted for more than eighty years, but I've never owned a military-style automatic weapon, and it is a puzzle to me as to why anyone would want one.

Laws require me to put a plug in my 12-gauge shotgun if I'm going to shoot ducks, so I can shoot only three shells without reloading. I guess that's because we prize ducks so much that we don't want to kill too many of them at One time. But there is no such law for weapons that kill people. This seems pretty silly to me.

President Obama is recommending that we limit people-killing guns to ten rounds at a time. Evidently; ten people equal three ducks...
