Last month's tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut reignited the national debate over gun control (see article, p. 6). With 88 guns for every 100 people, the U.S. has the highest rate of gun ownership in the world. It's also among the top nations in annual gun homicides-though it trails far behind the Leader in that category, Brazil.
