Grove Arcade.

It's taken many years and, ultimately, the intervention of Carolina Power & Light Co., but it looks like the Grove Arcade in Asheville will be restored. The 260,000square-foot Gothic building, which spans an entire downtown block, opened in 1929 as one of the nation's first indoor markets. Taken aver by the federal government during World War II, it later served as headquarters far the National Climatic Data Center. But the city has always itched to return the arcade to its original use. When the climate center moved into new digs in 1995, planning began in earnest.
