Consumers were encouraged to use bill pay for environmental reasons in a joint campaign entitled, "Go Paperless," conducted earlier this year by Sovereign Bank, Wyomissing, Pa., and the CheckFree Corp., Atlanta, Ga.

The campaign was designed to educate consumers about the green-friendly benefits of paperless bills.
