Graebel: technology transforms the international relocation business.

Over the past 55 years, Graebel has grown from the legendary one man, one truck operation to the largest, privately held relocation company in the world. Graebel has continually leveraged technology to distinguish itself as the premier international relocation organization. They have realized the importance of developing technological systems that can accommodate the growth and advancement of the company.

Two and a half years ago, Graebel's leadership came to the realization that the company had expanded past the vision and scope of its Registration Information Tracking System (RITS[R]) which registered shipments and tracked them with dates.

"We had to take a step forward to improve our technology base," says Collins. "We needed a more robust and powerful system with greater reporting and management capabilities. A Microsoft.Net technology base, we were convinced, was the way to go."

Graebel set out to develop a solution that would address those needs and create a flexible framework that would continue to evolve with the company. They determined that they had to partner with a state of the art organization that knew the .Net technology and also knew Graebel, so they partnered with Interlink.

Graebel was immediately impressed with Interlink's desire to understand its business needs. "We had several focused meetings before anyone coded anything," Collins recalls. "Interlink was committed to learning about our business, about the fundamentals of international forwarding, and this commitment has led to a more sound solution."

The organizations worked together to create RITS.net, a web-based Microsoft application that can be securely accessed from anywhere in the world. The system is task oriented and has a friendly user interface that exposes functionality to the user based on their roles, their permissions, and the task at hand.
