GovTravels Symposium returns for a second year.

More than 400 professionals and 150 organizations representing the federal and state government travel sector gathered February 27 to March 1, 2017, for the second annual GovTravels symposium.

Held at the Hilton Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia, GovTravels is the only event of its kind where stakeholders in both government and the private sector can meet and collaborate on regulations, technology, challenges and best practices in government travel. This year, GovTravels added the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO), which oversees commercial travel for the Department of Defense, as an official co-sponsor.

"GovTravels is a unique opportunity to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing travel managers across the federal government and the travel industry, and to collaborate on solutions to meet those challenges," said William Mansell, Director of the Defense Travel Management Office. "This event provides a relevant backdrop to help inform the strategic direction of the Defense Travel Enterprise as we consider new technologies and adopt applicable industry best practices."
