The president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Michael F. Lohr for appointment as judge advocate general of the Navy. Lohr is currently deputy judge advocate general.

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark announced the following assignments:

Rear Adm. John D. Stufflebeem is being assigned as commander of Carrier Group Two. Stufflebeem, who frequently conducts Pentagon news briefings, is deputy director for readiness and capabilities (J38) on the Joint Staff.

Rear Adm. Charles L. Munns is being named director of the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). Munns is commander of Submarine Group Eight and allied submarines in the Mediterranean.

Rear Adm. Paul J. Ryan is the new commander of the Mine Warfare Command. Ryan currently is director of warfare programs and readiness (N8) for the Atlantic Fleet.
