Florida's inspection stations, originally set up to protect fruit, vegetables and livestock, are turning up drugs, stolen goods and illegal aliens since the heightened alert after Sept. 11, 2001. The stations, primarily responsible for checking agricultural products coming in and out of the state for pests and disease, are proving to be valuable in other ways.
