Protesters at Google's 2014 shareholder meeting May 15 at the corporation's campus in Silicon Valley came with a simple message: Don't fund evil. Activists from citizen groups and unions demanded that Google stop funding organizations like the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

A shareholder proposal was presented requesting more transparency from Google on its political spending.
