Customized gloves, developed by the Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Mass., for the special operations community, promise to keep shooters' hands warm, and also pass the "trigger test," said Richard Elder, an equipment specialist at the center.

During tests, special operators wore the gloves in extreme cold weather, while hiking, skiing and snow-shoeing on a glacier in Alaska. The key is to be able to operate their weapons while wearing the gloves.
