Give deadbeats credit--and blame.

Great article, ("Lead us not into temptation," Jeff Rundles, November) and you had me with you right up to the very end. Right up to the line "... we have no business being given access to ..."

Therein lies the entire problem. Who is responsible for our actions? Why should the credit-card companies be required to restrict their offering of credit?

Are donut shops required to not sell their product to overweight people?

Are fast-food outlets restricted from selling their product to people with health problems?

Are liquor stores restricted from selling to individuals with drinking problems?

The problem is individuals who are NOT willing to take responsibility for their actions.

The ONLY ONE responsible for protecting us from ourselves is US.

Why don't I eat all the donuts I want to excess, or drink all the liquor I want to excess? Because I was taught to be responsible and know my limits. And understand the consequences.
