Girl's Day returns to Milwaukee City Hall.

Despite taking place virtually in 2021, Girls Day at City Hall returned to in-person Tuesday in Milwaukee, marking the event's 12th year. Approximately 100 girls were in attendance.

The event is open to young women in middle and high school, introducing them to careers in public service as well as women in political leadership positions. During the event, attendees sit in on a Common Council meeting, engage in panel discussions and opportunities for involvement with several organizations led by women.

Girl's Day at City Hall was created by District 6 Alderwoman Milele Coggs, a Milwaukee native.

During this year's event, Elizabeth Coggs received the 2021 Vel R. Phillips Trailblazer Award for her service to the community, and Victoria Tatum received the Girls' Day Scholarship Award.
