AMONG THOUSANDS OF ITEMS in stock at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Denver are GPS navigational systems--and GPS might be exactly the tool you need to avoid getting lost in Colorado's first Bass Pro mega store.

Boasting 180,000 square feet of outdoor clothing and equipment, the largest fly-fishing shop in the state, at 7970 E. 49th Ave. in the Stapleton redevelopment, also includes an outside casting pond where customers can try out new equipment; two 35-foot climbing walls that are free for kids; everything for the backpacker, car camper, or general camper from tents to cookware, and, of course, those GPS satellite hookups.

"The store is customized to reflect the lifestyles and sporting habits of Coloradans," says General Manager Don Watts. "It is a celebration of the great outdoor sports heritage."
