GFOA invites you to contribute to special issue of Government Finance Review.

GFOA will commemorate its centennial with, among other things, a special issue of Government Finance Review devoted to the association's past, present, and future. The editors want to involve as many members as possible in this issue, and encourage you to contribute in one of the following ways:

Essay Challenge. Much has changed in public administration and finance since GFOA was organized in 1906. With the pace of change only quickening, what will the state and local government landscape look like 25, 50, or 100 years from now?

GFOA challenges you to use your knowledge, experience, and imagination to forecast future trends in government management and finance. What will be the most significant issue or issues in the years to come? What are the greatest threats to the future fiscal stability of state and local governments? What new competencies will tomorrow's finance officer need to develop to be able to meet the challenges of the 21st century?

Give us your ideas on these and other important questions in the form of an essay entitled "Public Administration and Finance: What Does the Future Hold?" Essays should be between 750 and 1,000 words in length. All those who submit a thoughtful essay within the prescribed word count will receive a free GFOA polo shirt. The best essays will be...
