London has "Nomads." Now the U.S. has "Dads." Both are designated advisors set up to help small companies understand and comply with listing requirements and public disclosure obligations.

The London Stock Exchange created the Nomad--Nominated Advisor--position for its Alternative Investment Market, or AIM, which caters to small companies. The "Dad" (for Designated Advisor for Disclosure) label is a new one created by Pink Sheets LLC, the over-the-counter, New York-based market, in conjunction with its launch of a new market tier, the OTCQX, which began trading early in March.
