Air Force and Army units soon could be using a portable system to generate electrical power for remote facilities, such as small, isolated outposts and fully operational, forward-deployed airbases, according to Mazen Badr, spokesperson for Radian Inc., of Alexandria, Va.

Radian landed a $12.9 million contract to provide to the Air Armament Center, at Eglin Air Force Base, in Fla., components of the deployable power generation and distribution system (DPGPS).
