Even if you weren't able to join the approximately 7,000 attendees at GFOA's annual conference in June, there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved with GFOA--and get the most out of your membership. One of GFOAs strategic goals is to increase member interaction both with the organization and each other.

Serving on one of GFOA's seven standing committees is an excellent way to share your experience and knowledge with the entire membership. Committee members help guide policies by developing GFOA's best practices, advisories, and policy statements, while benefitting from excellent networking and professional development opportunities. Slots are still open for each committee --Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting; Canadian Issues; Economic Development and Capital Planning; Governmental Budgeting and Fiscal Policy; Governmental Debt Management; Retirement and Benefits Administration; and Treasury and Investment Management--and you have until July 28, 2017, to apply.
