GENDER PAY GAP REMAINS AN ISSUE.

Which states offer the narrowest gender pay gaps in the country, and has any significant progress toward closing those gaps in the last decade been made? According to a study of more than 300 metro areas by Business.org:

* The U.S. has narrowed the pay gap by a 2.6 percentage points over the last decade.

* Places where pay disparity has gotten worse since 2010 are South Dakota; Washington, D.C.; New Hampshire; Alabama; North Dakota; New Jersey; and Iowa.

* California has the lowest pay gap in the country, narrowing it by 4.6 percentage points since 2010. Women in the Golden State make roughly $0.88 for every dollar earned by men.
