Despite a 2012 study by the National Retail Federation that discovered retailers expected to lose $2,900,000,000 to fraud last holiday season, 92% of the online shoppers polled by Tada!, Los Angels, Calif., claim that they never would buy something with the intent to use and return it, and 90% claim that they would not take advantage of an overly generous return policy

Shoppers are fairly fastidious about checking return policies--women significantly more so than men. Those with an annual household income of $150,000 also are the most strident about good customer service.
