GE teams up with United Way to aid healthcare workers, first responders.

GE Appliances plans to donate products from its nine domestic manufacturing sites to healthcare workers and first responders on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

GE, in collaboration with United Way Worldwide, will donate thousands of appliances via its GEA4Heroes program, according to a new release. United Way will also coordinate donations to individuals in health care or on first-response teams as well as organizational donations on a critical-need basis.

"These men and women are working around the clock to keep us safe. We're relying on them, and they are relying on us and the products we make to keep their families safe and fed," Kevin Nolan, president and CEO of GE Appliances, said in the release.
