Anchorage-based General Communication Inc. plans to build a new $30 million fiber-optic cable network in Southeast Alaska. The 754 miles of cable will connect Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Angoon and Sitka to GCI's current fiber-optic cable linking Alaska and the Lower 48.
