JOHN S. GART, partner in The Gart Cos., is the 2005 chairman of the Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, succeeding SCOTT BEMIS, publisher of the Denver Business Journal. The appointment comes 29 years after John Gart's father, JERRY GART, served as bureau chairman.

TAMARA DOOR, an executive with the regional chamber of commerce in Detroit, was named president and CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership, the trade and marketing group for Downtown Denver merchants. Door replaces ANN WARHOVER who left the post last fall to lead HealthOne Alliance.

Directors of Wild Oats Markets Inc., the Boulder-based natural and organic-foods retailer, elected ROBERT MILLER, chairman of the board of Rite Aid Corp., non-executive chairman of Wild Oat's board. Miller replaces JOHN SHIELDS, who stepped down as board chair earlier this year, although he continues to serve as a director.

LARISSA HERDA, chairman and CEO of Time Warner Telecom, who graced the cover of the May issue of ColoradoBiz, has been named Denver Telecom Executive of the Year by the Denver Telecom Professionals, made up of 500 telecom industry professionals from throughout the Rocky Mountain region. She will be honored at a dinner March 3 at The Brown Palace.
