Garment Workers Block Entrance to Thai Parliament.

Workers from the Ladybird Garment Company, located in Samutprakan, Thailand, marched to parliament and blocked the gates to demand the government take stronger action to resolve their dispute.

The Ladybird workers manufacture clothing for Guess, Gymboree, PreNatal, T.J. Maxx, and Marshalls. On June 11, the company locked out seventy-seven workers. It refused to accept workers' demands, such as higher wages, an annual bonus, and compensation for pregnant women who can't work overtime. The workers are all members of the Garment Industry Labor Union.
