Entities required to follow the Red Flags rule, which calls for the design and implementation of identity theft prevention programs, now have online support.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has created a website--www.ftc.gov/redflagsrule--offering "Fighting Fraud with the Red Flags Rule: A How-To Guide for Business."

The FTC and the federal financial regulatory agencies developed the Red Flags rule under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003.
