Preface
Missouri Time Limitations
With the publication of the 2010 edition of Missouri Time Limitations, The Missouri Bar continues its effort to provide its members with useful and accurate practice books. This book was conceived as a way to provide lawyers with an easy-to-use reference containing substantially all the time limitations found in the statutes and rules so that lawyers would have a quick reference that might help them avoid a missed deadline. This edition is current through the First Extraordinary Session of the 95th Missouri General Assembly, which concluded in September 2010.
The 1984 edition was the work of Judge Fred E. Schoenlaub of St. Joseph, who not only completed the formidable job of writing the book but also of producing two supplements to it. Julian Bush of
St. Louis was responsible for the 1990 and 1991 Revisions. From 1993 to 1996, the task of updating the book belonged to Paul E. Schoenlaub of St. Joseph. This edition of Missouri Time Limitations is the 22nd edition of the book.
The format of the 2010 edition follows the pattern of clearly identifying the commentary accompanying statutory items. The book is published as two perfect-bound volumes for ease of updating. All former editions of Missouri Time Limitations, including the "black book" versions, should be discarded and replaced with this edition. For any reference to past time limitations, one should refer to the relevant Revised Statutes of Missouri.
The text of this deskbook is provided on the accompanying full-text, fully searchable CD-ROM in Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Professional (version 9.3.4). You can download a free copy of Adobe Reader through a link on the CD-ROM.
