Business has certainly taken its lumps in 2003-some deserved, but most, I think, not deserved. It is so easy to get tarred with somebody else's brush.

Businesses have been meeting payrolls, putting out good products, satisfying customers-and in most ways doing the best they can. Keep up the good work.

Let that occasional scalawag that crops up among us every now and again be cause for rededication of purpose and strengthening focus on goals. And not only that, but of feeling good about what we are doing.
