What Do You Like to do When You're Not at Work?

Our lives as practicing attorneys are primarily comprised of emails, phone calls, countless meetings, billable hours, and stressful court appearances. More often than not, I find myself working through a weekend and well past 5:00 p.m. That's why, at least for me, the time that I spend away from the office is so precious and valuable—I try to make the most out of every free second. I suspect that most of us probably feel this way.

Every weekend, depending on my workload, I try to spend a couple of hours reading and writing in Spanish. Trying to learn Spanish has helped me to become a better person and has given me a hobby that I will be able to take with me into retirement.

When I heard that this issue of the Wyoming Lawyer was devoted to what we enjoy doing when we are not at work, I was thrilled. In response, I thought that I would write my President's column on some of my favorite pastimes. I hope that when I see you, you...
