From the New Editor of the Quarterly...

Welcome to the second issue of the Workers' Compensation Quarterly for 2018! It is my privilege to begin working as the editor of this publication.

The Quarterly is the official publication of the California Lawyers Association, formerly the Workers' Compensation Section of the State Bar of California. The Quarterly's mission is to bring to the readership— all 3,600 of you—the highest-quality publication possible. Included with your membership dues (you pay $95), you get this publication four times a year, and we want you to get your money's worth.

Our objective is to bring to Workers' Compensation Section members educational and informative articles that are professional, balanced, and useful. Our vision is that every issue of the Quarterly provide an opportunity for the workers' compensation practitioner to either learn something new or strengthen their understanding of a topic.

To achieve these goals we are inviting all of you—applicant attorneys, defense attorneys, judges, lien representatives, doctors, everyone-to send in your articles. You can e-mail them directly to me at rpollak@pacificcomp.com. If the article is accepted for publication, I will make my best effort to get your article ready for publication.

Inside this issue of the Quarterly we start by recognizing the recipients of the 2018 Steve Jimenez Memorial Special Recognition Awards, to be presented on September 14, 2018.
