The Bar in Action: An Update on Operations and Safeguarding the Practice of Law

Our 2024-25 Bar year comes to an end soon and we are happy to report that Bar operations and our programs continue to meet expectations and deliver results. At the most recent Board of Governors meeting, the Board approved the budget for the 2025-26 Bar year and set an appropriate license fee level.

We provided a report on the use of unallocated or unrestricted cash and specifically identified the major areas where we have made most of the recommendations for use or investment. Those areas include investments in technology, investments in member services, investments in our physical infrastructure at the Bar Center and our satellite offices, investments in tenant improvements for 104 Marietta St. and investments in the Conference Center, and for other items not previously anticipated or budgeted. The Board also evaluated the expansion of opportunities for all categories of members to provide pro bono services.

The Annual Meeting is June 5-8, 2025, at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort &Spa, and we encourage all of you to join us as we congratulate and thank President Ivy N. Cadle for his service...
