CANOE RIDGE COLUMBIA VALLEY CABERNET -- 2003

Christophe Paubert is the winemaker and obviously has brought his French influence to the wines he is crafting in Washington State. You can taste it. What is "it," you ask? The earth in this Merlot is nicely integrated with the other beautiful flavors of fruit. The pairing is a "glass" ... pour it in the glass and enjoy this wine with your favorite dish.

KRUG NAPA VALLEY SAUVIGNON BLANC -- 2006

I always have been a big fan of Peter Mondavi, and you will be a fan after you taste this wine. This is a varietally correct wine--meaning this is how Sauvignon Blanc should taste. There are hints of lemon and grapefruit with a touch of acidity on the finish. Shellfish or sashimi would be appropriate food pairings. Or heck, just invite some friends over and sit outside and enjoy it with them.

CHALONE MONTEREY COUNTY CHARDONNAY -- 2005

This is a nice, clean glass of wine--meaning it is not an oil slick in your mouth. Pears stand out here with a nice balance of acidity. There's a nice floral aroma on the nose, also. Pair this wine with a nice summer salad with sliced pears and edible flowers. Oh, and throw some goat cheese on top. Overall, the wine has great structure. The quality is high. It's wonderful.
