Basic Bio:

I am a middle-aged outdoorsy lawyer from Casper, Wyoming, who feels tremendously lucky in life. I am blessed with a close and supportive family, a terrific job, friends from different walks of life, and I love this state and its people. After high school and a couple years at an out-of-state college, I found my way back to Wyoming and rediscovered the down-to-earth community and outdoor opportunities here and haven't looked back. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with degrees in International Studies and French, eventually went to law school in Laramie, and then met my wife, a Cheyenne native, while working at the Attorney General's Office in Cheyenne. I could not ask for a better playmate and companion than my wife, and we are doing our best to raise our two kids. We now live in Jackson, and I work for the firm of Long Reimer Winegar LLP. I feel so grateful for it all.

When did you decide to become a lawyer and why?

After graduating from college, I did not have a lot of vocational direction, and I was more interested in rock climbing as much as I could. I worked as a substitute teacher to fund "dirtbag" climbing trips around the West. I met amazing people and had unforgettable experiences. Eventually I landed on the idea of applying to law school. Why law school? I'm not entirely sure, as I think back on it, except it seemed intriguing...
