Denise M. Freeman Senior Policy Assistant Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Basic Bio: Denise is a long-time Wyoming resident, having moved with her family to the City of Cheyenne in 1975. She attended Thomas More Prep-Marian High School in Hays, Kansas, earned an A.A. degree in Accounting from Laramie County Community College, and holds a B.S. in Management and Human Resources from Park University. She started her career as an accounting technician in the Laramie County finance department. She went on to serve as the executive director of the Wyoming Association of Risk Management, as the human resources director for the City of Cheyenne, and as the business manager/executive assistant for a high net worth family, which she describes as “one of the most interesting positions I have held.” She is currently employed as a Senior Policy Assistant by Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP, where she works with the Wyoming and Nevada government relations teams.

I began working in e legal field in 2018 when my brother opened a second office of his boutique firm, Hyperion Advisors, in Cheyenne. I was responsible for certain business operations and supported the government relations team.

I started working for Brownstein in January 2020 when Hyperion and Brownstein merged. I continue to work in government relations.

On any given day, you can find me conducting legislative research and analysis, monitoring legislative meetings and hearings, and otherwise tracking legislation.

The most rewarding part of my job is following bills through the legislative process and seeing our work effect positive outcomes for our clients. Working for Brownstein is incredible, in my opinion. The work is interesting and the people I work with are more than just colleagues, they’re friends. The firm provides a nurturing company culture, strong leadership, and abundant resources to afford tremendous opportunities for employees in all positions to succeed.
