Jacquelyn Bridgeman

Basic Bio: Jacquelyn has been a professor at the University of Wyoming College of Law and an adjunct professor of African American and Diaspora Studies since 2002. She became Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in 2010, Associate Dean of Program Development and Kepler Professor of Law in August 2013, and Interim Dean in November 2013. She held the latter position until July 2015. She teaches Employment Law, Family Law, Torts, Legal Writing, and Sports & Entertainment Law. She has received numerous teaching awards and was recognized as a Woman of Distinction in 2014 by the University of Wyoming Women's Leadership Conference. Before coming to the University of Wyoming, Jacquelyn practiced law in Los Angeles. She received her B.A. with honors from Stanford University, her J.D. from the University of Chicago, and she is a graduate of Laramie High School. She is also married and has two wonderful kids.

In my job, I am most excited about working with people who are excited and eager to become lawyers.

My best advice for new lawyers is: keep an open mind, don’t be afraid to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you, and don’t be afraid to find and do work that you enjoy.

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing students graduate and then do well in the profession. I love to see where they end up and all the wonderful things they do after leaving law school.

When I am not at work, you can often find me at one of my kids’ activities or coaching one of their sports teams.
